These savoury biscuits are easy to make and are extremely delicious. Cheese is the main ingredient. These savoury delights can be served at family functions and they go well with a cup of coffee or tea. They hold well if stored in a sealed container.

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs (1 egg yolk used for biscuit brushing)

  • 250 g salted pure butter

  • 1 cup milk (full cream)

  • 1 cup olive oil

  • 2 cups parmesan cheese

  • 1 kg self-raising flour

  • 1 tablespoon salt

  • sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  • Add salted butter into a mixer bowl and begin mixing process over high speed.
  • Add salt, olive oil and continue mixing process over high speed.
  • Allow mixture to combine adding milk.
  • Separate egg yolks and egg whites.
  • Slowly combine egg yolks.
  • Stop mixing process, adding parmesan cheese and continue mixing process over high speed.
  • Beat egg whites until they turn into a thick texture.
  • Slowly add egg whites into the mixture and continue mixing process over low speed.
  • Stop mixing process and slowly combine the flour into the mixture.
  • Mix through thoroughly adding flour until the mixture comes together.
  • Use a drinking glass cut out biscuit shapes (as demonstrated in our video demonstration: 3:05-3:30).
  • Place biscuits onto a baking tray (lined with baking paper). almira mpiskota
  • Lightly brush egg yolk over biscuits (adding sesame seeds – optional).
  • Bake biscuits at 180-C for 60 minutes or until biscuits turn golden brown.
